More offers for schools

Whether your school is a leader in the field of arts education, or it’s an area you need more assistance with, becoming a partner school could be the ideal opportunity.

Are you…

  • Dedicated to the arts?
  • Wanting to offer your students a broad and balanced curriculum?
  • Needing some support in delivering drama?
  • Wanting to widen your extracurricular offering?

If the answer’s yes, then your school might be the perfect fit!

If you would like to know more about becoming a partner school, please email creativeeducation@leedsplayhouse.org.uk.

Leeds Playhouse is proud to have the following Partner Schools in Leeds:

  • Hawksworth Wood Primary School
  • Chapel Allerton Primary School
  • Hillcrest Academy
  • Shakespeare Primary School and Children’s Centre
  • Farsley Springbank Primary School

If you’ve brought a school group to the Playhouse before then you’ll know we aim to make everything as painless as possible, from reserving the tickets right through to getting everyone into the auditorium.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer school bookings online – instead, please contact our Box Office on 0113 213 7700 to make a booking and we will be delighted to discuss your requirements and go through all the options with you.

Age Recommendation

Age Recommendation is assessed according to the complexity and sensitivity of issues, images, sexual references and strength of language used in both Leeds Playhouse productions and visiting productions. Any sensitive content is highlighted in our main brochure and on the individual production web pages, but we do encourage schools to call our Box Office with any specific concerns or questions regarding sensitive material in the productions.

Take note…

We strongly discourage students from taking notes during performances at Leeds Playhouse. Please encourage your students to fully enjoy their theatre experience by focusing completely on the action on stage. They can then jot down any notes immediately after the performance.

For specific support for students studying a performance to write about in an exam, please contact the Education team at creativeeducation@leedsplayhouse.org.uk

ArtsMark is the creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England. It provides a clear framework for teachers to plan, develop and evaluate arts, culture and creativity across the curriculum.

Schools are supported throughout their ArtsMark journey by our network of local delivery partners, providing training, advice, practical teaching resources and introductions to leading cultural organisations in your area. If you are a school that is dedicated to supporting the arts in the curriculum, then why not join the ever-growing network of schools championing arts and culture by registering for ArtsMark.

All schools applying to be awarded the ArtsMark receive 20% off any of the Playhouse’s workshops.

For more information contact creativeeducation@leedsplayhouse.Org.Uk or visit the ArtsMark website.

There are CPD opportunities throughout the year for teachers to attend, either hosted and run by Leeds Playhouse, or in collaboration with visiting theatre makers.

We also offer bespoke CPD for individual schools or MATs, to be run at training days or twilight sessions.
