Playhouse Youth drop-in sessions

You don’t have to book in advance or come every week. Just arrive in time for the start of the session and pay £2 each time you come.

Sessions are on a first come first served basis and doors open half an hour before the session starts. Everyone is welcome at weekly workshops, but if you need one to one support please bring someone with you or contact the team to find out more about the content of the session.

TUESDAY NIGHT DRAMA – EVERY TUE 5PM – 7PM
(FIRST SESSION TUE 14 MAY)

Open to all young people wanting to try out a weekly theatre group, without the commitment of coming every week. This term, this group will explore ensemble acting techniques using text, devising and improvisation.

PASSIONATE ABOUT PLAYS – EVERY TUE 7PM – 8.30PM
(FIRST SESSION TUE 14 MAY)

Want to broaden your knowledge of plays old and new? Read and listen to plays together, and understand more about the ways plays are written with a view to writing your own play in the future. Plus, we have an ever growing library of plays which you can borrow from. Run by Youth Theatre Director Gemma Woffinden.

FRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC – EVERY FRI 5PM – 7PM
(FIRST SESSION FRI 17 MAY)

This term at Friday Night Music we will be exploring different vocal and performance skills, including harmony, Musical Theatre, pop and singing together. Run by graduate musicians from Leeds College of Music. Explore the music you like, learn new skills and have fun.

FIRST FLOOR ARTISTS – EVERY SAT 11AM – 12.30PM
(FIRST SESSION SAT 18 MAY)

Calling all budding visual artists! This group is a space for you to work on your own projects, learn new techniques and try new ways of expressing yourself through visual arts. This term work will be exhibited at our UP NEXT festival.
