YOUNG LEADERS 2021
Playhouse Young Leaders is a free course for 18 to 25 year olds to train up to become the next generation of arts facilitators.
We are working in partnership with Chapel FM, DAZL, Geraldine Connor Foundation, Mind the Gap and Leeds Libraries & Studio 12 to help participants develop skills for their creative community practice.
Six participants are ready to go, put forward by our creative partners. Now we are looking for six more people who are interested in any artform to join us!
The project includes:
The course will give online training in planning and delivering workshops and events, setting up as an artist, safeguarding, career development and working with communities among lots of other things. You will get to know lots of industry professionals who are working in Leeds and beyond.
You will have the opportunity to work as small companies to lead engagement projects such as workshop series, small-scale community events or digital engagement. There is also the option to complete a Gold Arts Award for those who want to, and even gain some work experience.
We are interested in hearing from people who can bring all kinds of experiences and perspectives to the group, particularly those who are currently underrepresented in the arts.
