Qualifications & Creative Employability

Alternative provision and training courses at Leeds Playhouse

We offer opportunities for young people to gain qualifications and experience in the creative industries through our alternative provision and training courses.

Are you looking to develop as a young leader? Are you interested in a career as a community artist? Do you want to engage people with the arts? We are looking for 12 young people to take part in playhouse young leaders – this is a training project for young people aged 18 to 25.

The project includes:

3 day intensive training course, some additional weekly sessions, group sessions led by yourselves, events and work experience. During the project we will cover everything from planning and delivering workshops and events, setting up as an artist, work experience and more. You will also complete a Gold Arts Award. You can do this training alongside any volunteering or work you are already doing with any organisation. We will get in touch with them to make sure it fits in with your commitments or work experience can be arranged within our Creative Engagement team.

Then we’d like to meet you! There will be an open evening in the new year so watch this space.
