Learn the basic techniques of beatboxing, beatbox performance skills, and how to create your own sounds with world record holding beatboxer and acclaimed writer and theatre-maker Testament.
Testament will also explore mic technique, looping, ensemble beatbox, as well as exploring the possibilities of using beatbox to tell a story.
Testament‘s work includes beatboxing for Sony and acclaimed radio plays The Beatboxer and Daughter on BBC Radio 4 (the latter of which is entirely soundtracked by beatboxing), which were both nominated for BBC Audio Drama Awards. In 2022, Testament performed Orpheus In The Record Shop (Opera North/Leeds Playhouse) which uses beatboxing in collaboration with players from Opera North. Testament also wrote the hit play Black Men Walking (Best Play nominee Writer’s Guild Awards 2019 and Best New Play nominee UK Theatre Awards 2020).
