My Life with the Wave is a story of friendship, taking audiences on a journey beneath the waves.

Created for people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and staged in Interplay Theatre’s unique illuminated dome, My Life with the Wave is inspired by the poem by Mexican Poet Laureate Octavio Paz and uses movement, sound, digital technology, and physical interaction to create a fully immersive sensory experience.

The show is being performed in a special space at MODA’s Leeds New York Square development, next door to the Playhouse on Quarry Hill. Access is via Playhouse Square – staff will support you into the theatre space.

In addition to the show, Interplay and Leeds Playhouse will be collaborating on the highly regarded Beautiful Octopus Club Festival, a week of interactive experiences, a club night, and creative sessions for people with learning disabilities. The festival also includes a Sensory Theatre Symposium about the experiences of people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, their parents and carers, sharing how sensory experiences, theatre and the arts impact their lives.
