Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) is a leading centre for contemporary dance based in Leeds, UK. For over 35 years the School has enabled aspiring dance artists to enter and shape the industry. Professional training and education are offered at CertHE, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, focusing on the development of versatile dance artists with highly-tuned technical, creative and performance skills.

VERVE is the international touring dance company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance, led by Matteo Marfoglia. The company comprises 16 exceptional dancers, trained at one of the UK’s leading dance institutions. Each year the company commissions established and emerging choreographers to create an artistically distinct, physically-daring and engaging programme of dance work. The company tours extensively to venues and festivals across the UK and internationally. 

Luca Signoretti was born in Pesaro, Italy, and began studying dance in his home country before joining Ballet Junior de Genève in 2006. In 2009, he moved to Lucerne and became a dancer with Tanz Luzerner Theater.

Following his active dance career, he then turned to choreography. In 2013, he was a finalist in the 27th International Choreographic Competition Hannover, and three years later he received the Pretty Creatives Award from the North West Dance Project in Oregon, USA.

Additional accolades followed, including both second place and the Production Award at the 11th Copenhagen International Choreography Competition. In 2019, he was semi-finalist at the Rotterdam International Duets Choreography Competition (RIDCC). His first short dance film was nominated by the Student Academy Awards in Hollywood in 2020. He completed a master’s degree in choreography at the Zurich University of the Arts and is now Artistic Director of the new Choreographers in Residence platform.

In 2021, he founded the Signoretti Dance Company, which went on tour in Switzerland as part of Tanzfaktor in 2022. He regularly teaches improvisation classes in Zurich at Tanzwerk101, Zurich University of the Arts and Nuova officina della Danza in Torino.

Luca has been commissioned to create work for Luzern Theater, Regensburg Theater and National Theater Mannheim. In 2020, Luca joined the new dance company rooted in Switzerland and founded by choreographers Cathy Marston and Ihsan Rustem.

Thanh-Tú ‘Sattva’ Nguyen is a Vietnamese, Germany-born interdisciplinary artist based in London, who is also widely known as ‘Sattva Ninja’ from season one of the HBO Max TV series, LEGENDARY. They have represented the Ballroom Culture for over a decade in 24 countries across the globe.

Their artistry is known worldwide for their mystical, geometrical, cultural and in-depth approach to movements and storytelling in connection with space and sound, creating an immersive experience. ‘Sculpting movements’ is how they define their creation process, influenced by their admiration for illusions, nature and their practice as a contortionist and painter.

As a choreographer, director and performer, they have worked with well-established names like Coldplay, Meghan Thee Stallion, Raye, Janelle Monáe, Christian Louboutin, LỰU ĐẠN, Campbell Addy, Sadlers Wells, Snapchat, Mercedes Benz and many more.

Bosmat Nossan is an international choreographer and dancer. Her work originates from an attraction to the unnatural, the exaggerated and the stylised. She is inspired by science fiction, comics, and surrealist art. Bosmat is a former dancer of the Batsheva Dance Company and the Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Polak Dance Company. Currently she is the Director of Teacher Training at Gaga. Bosmat teaches and presents her work in various venues and events across the world.
