Beautiful Octopus Club Festival

The Beautiful Octopus Club returns this year with a whole week of activity for our club night attendees and Beautiful Octopus Crew to enjoy.

The aim of the week is to support a new conversation about what Beautiful Octopus club is and how we come together to have fun, be creative and socialise.

The Festival week offers in person and online activity and we hope you can come along, interact and reignite the spirit of Beautiful Octopus.

Monday 6 December Interaction Day 10am – 4pm
Open to Beautiful Octopus Crew members this careers and communities fair in partnership with Leeds Museums and Galleries will include sensory workshops, an Interactive trail around the playhouse including exhibition from Artist Howard Haigh and Adam Cox and showcase short Dance Films by Mind The Gap.

Tuesday 7 December Creative Arts Workshop 10am – 1pm
Beautiful Octopus Club Artists are invited to come and meet with Buzz Creative Arts Course Young people to work together to create set for the Interaction Day and Relaxed Performance of Wendy & Peter Pan.

Wednesday 8  and Thursday 9 December Creative Online sessions run by Party People 10am 11.30am
During these sessions you will learn a dance routine, create songs and make props for the Party People Online Disco on Friday.

Thursday 6 December Interaction Day at Leeds Playhouse 10am – 3pm
Come and explore the Playhouse, meet Leeds Playhouse staff, take part in a sensory workshop and learn more about Beautiful Octopus Club.

 

Thursday 9 December Wendy & Peter Pan Relaxed Performance 12:30pm – 2:30pm
Join us for the relaxed performance of our magical festive adventure, Wendy & Peter Pan.
The relaxed performance will have adaptations to the atmosphere of the production to make sure everyone in the audience as comfortable as possible. Adaptations include the lighting being dimmed, a chill-out area is people become overwhelmed and an open attitude for audience members to make noise and move about.. Friday 10 December Bright Sparks Theatre Company present ‘Nice To See You’ (Christmas Show) 1pm-2pm
A show about Food, family, friends and telly! Come and enjoy the sharing of Bright Sparks end of year show.

 

Online Disco with Party People 7pm -9pm (In partnership with Bradford Council)
An online disco curated by Beautiful Octopus Club Crew and attendees.

Saturday 11 of December Christmas Sing a Long 1:30pm  – 3:30pm
FREE Weekend Workshops and Beautiful Octopus Club Crew come together for a Christmas sing a long at First Floor.
