More Information on Open Season 2017

At West Yorkshire Playhouse, we are intensely proud of our relationships with our local community. Since 2013 we have thrown open our doors in the summer and invited some of the best community groups to come and perform on our stages in Open Season. This year is no exception.

Through this Festival of Community Performance we hope to showcase local talent from across Leeds and celebrate the diversity of incredible stories in the city. As well as hosting a range of performances from our friends such as Space 2 and Beyond Festival, we will also be presenting work made through our own Creative Engagement department.

Creative Engagement is the award winning programme that uses theatre to open up opportunities for young people, older people, schools and communities. We hope you are able to join us for some or all of these performances and see the amazing talent that West Yorkshire has to offer. From music to theatre, dance to spoken word, there’s a little something for everyone – the season is open, so come on inside.
