Carrie has made a huge mistake and has run away to Haworth. She needs to wrap herself in the stories that entranced her as a girl and, of course, to talk things through with Charlotte. But Charlotte has her own opinion about what Carrie has done and she isn’t in a forgiving mood.

The West Yorkshire Playhouse, working in partnership with the Brontë Parsonage Museum, have commissioned local writer Emma Adams and Sound Designer Nicolas Lewis, to create this audio drama. The piece explores the Brontës’ place in many readers’ lives as a touchstone, and Haworth as a place of pilgrimage.

‘When I was 20 I re-read Jane Eyre. I was at Uni. I’d just been chucked… I stayed up all night and read it cover to cover. I loved it all over again, but for different reasons’  Emma Adams

This unique audio drama lasts for 25 minutes and takes place through an audio player and headphones.

The audio drama has been written specifically for the Brontë Parsonage Museum’s surroundings and takes place outside the Museum, in the Churchyard

A returnable deposit is required for the equipment.

Venue: Bronte Parsonage Museum, Church Street, Haworth BD22 8DR

The audio experience is also available from West Yorkshire Playhouse Box Office, or to download online
