In association with the JMK Trust, we’re hosting a two day intensive for 10 early career Directors and 10 early career Set & Costume Designers to explore the relationship between these two roles and the process of creating the design and concept for a piece of theatre. It’s also an opportunity for artists to meet potential collaborators and peers from across the region. The two days will be led by Oliver Twist Director Amy Leach and Designer Hayley Grindle. The intensive is free to attend and includes a free ticket to watch Oliver Twist.
Oliver Twist is a new adaptation of the novel by Charles Dickens which is being co-produced by Leeds Playhouse and Ramps on the Moon. The production has an integrated company of D/deaf, disabled and non-disabled artists, and features integrated creative BSL, captioning and audio description at every performance. This intensive will explore accessibility as part of the design process.
Friday 13 March, 10am – 5.30pm in Rehearsal Room 2, Leeds Playhouse
