Theatre & Performance Making

Developing non-traditional live performances

In 2018, we’re announcing a new programme of professional development for non-traditional makers of live performance.

Leeds is home to some of the most innovative theatre and performance makers in the country. We want to create a flexible and collaborative programme that celebrates diversity of practice and process.

Leeds Playhouse is a home for incredible stories and our primary remit is to deliver excellent narrative theatre. We also recognise and appreciate the enormous breadth of contemporary performance that is non-narrative, or that sits between theatre and live art.

We’re committed to building a robust and multifaceted creative ecology in Leeds so we will work in partnership with Live Art Bistro to deliver this programme, ensuring that the skills of theatre and performance makers are supported regardless of form.

We will announce more details of the programme in the coming months, so check back here, or join the Furnace Social Club to be kept in the loop.
