Our spaces

  • Quarry theatre – the largest of our four performance spaces, with a maximum capacity of 850 seats. Download plan.
  • Courtyard theatre – the second largest of our four performance spaces, with a maximum capacity of 400 seats. Download Plan.
  • Bramall Rock Void – our flexible underground studio space built as part of the building’s 2019 development, with a maximum capacity of 108 seats (interchangeable) or 118 standing. Download Plan.
  • Barber Studio – our multi-functional performance and largest rehearsal space.
  • Foyle Rehearsal Room – the second rehearsal space.
  • Rehearsal Room 3 – our third rehearsal space situated in Playhouse 2.

  • Multi-faith Reflection Room (Level 3) – our dedicated Multi-Faith & Reflection space offers a quiet and comfortable place for people who would like to take a moment for reflection, contemplation or prayer.
  • Play Area (Level 1, above the Front Room Café) – our free play corner features a play stage, box office and backstage departments, and props and costumes rails. Children must be supervised by their parent and/or guardian at all times.
  • The Newlyn Gallery (Level 1) – visit this space for a changing programme of exhibitions and displays. The gallery is also available to be used by local artists. Please email info@leedsplayhouse.org.uk for any enquiries.
  • There are 8 accessible toilets, separate male and female toilets, a Changing Places toilet (Level 2), family cubicles and gender-neutral toilets (Level 2) available to the public at all times that the Playhouse is open.
  • Brooke Room (Level 2) – our unique and relaxed space with panoramic views across Playhouse Gardens and into Leeds.
  • City Room (Level 3) – sitting proudly at the front of our building, with fantastic floor-to-ceiling views of Victoria Gate.
  • Weston Room (Level 3) – this spacious meeting room overlooks the Playhouse Kitchen and Bar area, with a large skylight.

  • First Floor – our dedicated space for young people. It is a safe, warm and welcoming place for young people to come and be creative. We offer Youth Theatre sessions, drop in activities and groups for Young Carers and young people seeking asylum, as well as creative courses for young people with learning disabilities and young people who are not in formal education or training. Our work is delivered by artists, youth workers and external partners and art is at the heart of everything we do. Find out more here.

Leeds Playhouse offers a unique setting for your meetings, conferences and private events. Featuring spectacular views of the city, we have a number of flexible spaces that can be adapted to suit your event needs.
